Ahh, October. No other month on the East Coast calendar presents a better juxtaposition of waves, weather, and wide-open beaches finely relieved of their summer crowds. The 10th month of the year also marks the point when many of us dust off our fall and winter wetsuits — so there’s no better time to tap eight of the Rightside’s finest freesurfers and get their thoughts on what neoprene does for them. While global oceans have risen an average of 8 inches over the last century, on the East Coast, many of those totals are far higher. Nearly four feet (!) on the Gulf Coast of Louisiana.
