You feeling lucky on this Friday the 13th? With the following selection of epic Friday Flicks choices, we sure are. Let’s see what’s fresh this week…
First up, footage of some guy named Kelly Slater navigating Backdoor Pipeline, as captured by Texan photographer and very stoked North Shore visitor G. Scott — can’t go wrong there, right?
Next up, surfer/model/dreamboat Anastasia Ashley appears on “Here’s the Rub,” a go90 original series starring actor Andrew Santino as Russian talk show host Nikolai Popov, who interviews the world’s most famous athletes in this off-beat comedy.
ESM has been covering the Great Lakes surf community for 26 years now, but we swear the freshwater stoke level is at all-time highs. Andrew Wyton’s Sweet Water captures the goings-on over on the Canadian side of the Great Lakes with music by Ultimate Spinach and additional footage from Tania Dupon-Martinez and Jordan Groves.
Want some more snow? Montauk loc’dogs Nick Joeckel and Austin Eckardt have you covered in this icy edit from January 8th, one of the coldest but also best days of the entire winter. As filmmaker Sascha said, “Empty lineup. Snow day. Small but fun waves. Cold. Lonely. Hot chocolate.” Bam.
Who’s ready for some clean, classic Central Florida longboarding? Jef Burford and his son Caelan’s crew got down just before the New Year in Indialantic in beautiful conditions that will make any duffer drool.
Finally, more from the Great Lakes by way of Rhode Island — French-Canadian superstar Aurelien Bouche-Pillon, who just happens to be one of the greatest ambassadors for Great Lakes surfing (and a seasoned ambassador for superBRAND and Hyperflex), pays it forward with this loving and hilarious ode to New England legend Peter Pan. Until next Friday, friends…
