Volcom is proud to announce the spring 2010 U.S. edition of The Volcom Tour, headlined by MASTODON, beginning April 16, 2010 and featuring special guests BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, BARONESS and VALIENT THORR.
The bi-continental Rock n' Roll road show, better know as The Volcom Tour, entered 2010–its third year in existence–with a bang as MASTODON and TOTIMOSHI stormed across Europe in January and February. Initially conceived and launched in 2007, the inaugural tour featured exclusively Volcom Entertainment acts, VALIENT THORR, RIVERBOAT GAMBLERS, YEAR LONG DISASTER, ASG, TOTIMOSHI and BIRDS OF AVALON. Then in 2008, The Volcom Tour with its humble beginnings only a year before, made a considerable move up in venue sizes with the inclusion of a "legend" status band, MOTORHEAD, as the 2008 U.S. tour's headliner. Now in 2010 The Volcom Tour is returning with their most exciting line up yet, featuring the best bands today in modern heavy metal; MASTODON, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, BARONESS and VALIENT THORR.
Globally celebrated, critically revered, hard rock masterminds, MASTODON, continue to command media attention finishing out 2009 even stronger that it started with their album, Crack The Skye, placing on numerous "Year End / Best of 2009" critics lists and readers polls including an impressive #8 entry on the prestigious Village Voice Annual Pazz & Jop Critics Poll's "Top 25 Albums of 2009" list. For the past eleven months MASTODON have toured the world on their own as well as a co-headline tour with Dethklok and dates overseas supporting Metallica which continues to expand their notoriety as a peerless live force of nature. Now on the Volcom Tour this spring will bring the band to the fans in American cities that have yet to experience the "Crack The Skye" live event.

BARONESS are touring in support of their stunning sophomore album, Blue Record. Blue Record is an instantly-classic album that has landed the band on numerous year- and decade- best of lists. Deep and dark; Blue Record overflows with gossamer melodies and striking, earnest riffs that have become the band's signature. BARONESS has already headlined through the US and Europe on Blue Record, and will be traveling to Australia and Japan for the first time as a band this spring before they hit the road on the Volcom Tour. The band has also been invited to play at both the Coachella and Bonnaroo festivals this year.
Continuing their single-minded mission to spread their message of peace with a catalyst of hard & fast Rock n' Roll, the mighty band from the planet Venus, VALIENT THORR, are currently writing and recording their 5th full-length album, taking some time off from their staggeringly productive tour schedule that finds them averaging close to 250 dates a year. Look for a brand new Valient Thorr song to be released to coincide with the start of the 2010 Volcom Tour.
