proposed a video interview with Aussie absurdists Goons Of Doom, I jumped at
the opportunity, even though the Goons hadn’t toured the East Coast in several
years. But when a band led by one of the most eccentric pro surfers on the
planet (Ozzie Wright) offers to give an exclusive interview on the heels of
their best album to date (the hilariously titled and infectiously poppy I Hate My Hair And I Want To Die), you
don’t waffle. You say “hell yes!”, hedge your bets, and pray the finished
product makes sense. Little did I know what the Goons would deliver… So here
you have it, a backyard ballad penned exclusively for ESM, with the Goons melodically discussing punk rock parties,
songwriting motivation, and their 2005 jaunt to the East Coast.
