...AND THE BEAT GOES ON

  • subtitle: 2013 East Coast Winter Morphs Into One Long Blur Of Excellent Conditions

Written by  Nick McGregor
Friday, 3/15/13

What is there left to say about the last two months of winter surf? February was packed to the gills with swell from the 1st to the 28th. And March has been roaring like a freakin' lion from the 1st until the 13th, with all points on the Rightside compass — Nova Scotia, New England, New York, New Jersey, Delmarva, the Carolinas, Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico, and everywhere in between — lighting up once, twice... hell, even 10 times over in some cases.

We could pontificate on the formation of this most recent winter megastorm (“Saturn,” for you Weather Channel suckers), or its expansive wind field, or its miniscule forward speed, or its eye-popping barometric pressure… or we could just flash you the best 30 photos we culled from two weeks of nonstop submissions. And guess what? There’s another swell on tap for next week. We’re gonna squeeze every ounce of winter goodness we can from this year before spring is officially sprung on March 21st. Let's just say you better be having as much fun surfing these waves as we are staring at photos of 'em for days on end…
