  • subtitle: Freesurf Highlights From An Action-Packed Weekend In New Smyrna Beach

When a few hundred surfers show up in New Smyrna Beach for the NSSA East Coast regionals, you can bet the freesurfing sideshow is going to be big. This past weekend saw 2- to 4-foot surf from Thursday through Sunday, with varying degrees of wind and tide, making for overall very rippable waves. The lineup had quite a bit of crowd factor, as it usually does each weekend when the waves are good, but throw in a huge surfing contest on top of that, and finding a wave to yourself will be no easy task. Still, the locals were out there getting their fair share of waves, with the Geiselman brothers absolutely schooling everyone on how to surf the small inlet peaks. With weekend temperatures hovering in the high 80's, with lots of sunshine and variable light winds, conditions could not have been better. Check out these photos and enjoy the show...
