Here we go
again… when we posted our third installment of Hurricane Earl photos just over
two weeks ago, Hurricane Igor’s Category 4 girth was lining up perfectly for
Right Coast swell windows. And now that we’re finishing up our off-the-charts
Igor coverage, several complex hybrid systems are lurking about in the Caribbean,
waiting to pull off the Eastern Seaboard and provide a few more quick shots of
extra-tropical south swell. After that, a honking fetch of northeast wind is
predicted to settle in over the Southeast for the first week of October, giving
East Coast surfers three distinct swells in just over three short weeks.
We’ll take
every ounce of tropical-fueled bliss that we can get, too, especially given the
sub-par summer and fall and less-than-ideal (read: cold as hell) winter and
spring we endured to get here. With over two months left in this year’s
Atlantic Hurricane Season and a handful of top-notch swells already in the bag,
we’re inching closer and closer to epic status with every passing day, too. So crack
a beer or a Coke or a carbonated water, give 2010 three well-deserved cheers,
and sit back as we show you the best of the rest from long-lived and much-loved
