| Three years separated Ben Bourgeois' Easterns titles, as the flashy Wrightsville Beach, NC, prodigy took Boys in '93 and Juniors in '96. But something magical happened in that time, as Benny went on to lead a U.S. Team composed mostly of ESA products to a gold medal at the 1996 ISA Junior World Championships, subsequently becoming the most successful surfer in North Carolina history, and the state's only WCT player.
