Cape Cod Surfing Championships

WHERE: Whitecrest
Beach, South Wellfleet, MA
WHY: For trophies,
prizes, and valuable ESA points towards ESA Northeast Regional Championships
berths, and eventually the ESA Eastern Surfing Championships. ESA-SNE
Co-Director Ron Belanger made the controversial call to hold off until Sunday
in hopes of a better three to four-foot swell, with ESA-SNE Competition
Director and longtime Mass staple Chick Frodigh applauding the decision: “It
was over double the size it was [Saturday], and about as good as it gets around
here in the summer.” Big thanks to Peter Pan for results.
